Blade Runner 2049 review – a gigantic spectacle of pure hallucinatory craziness

The best part of the film for me was the spectacular
cinematography and the amazing shots that we were able to experience. Which I think
would not have been as enjoyable had it not been in a cinema screening. The
vibrant orange/red colour was very unexpected compared to the dull colours used
in other scenes.

I like the way that we are sutured into the narrative in the
sense that we are also on a journey with the main protagonist as we are also
trying to figure out what the actual point to his entire struggle is and who is
the original and who is the copy.
And to read this article that links the film to wider contexts and the theoretical writings of Baudrillard...

I feel like the film did well in portraying how bizarre the
society was in that time in the sense that there was a very complicated relationship
between K and Joi his holographic girlfriend. IT shows how separate he is from
the society as he doesn’t realise that his holographic girlfriend is a mass
produced app.
